Darakaraka Planet in Jaimini Astrology
The Planet which has the lowest degree in your Horoscope is known as Darakaraka and it represents our spouse in your chart. This is a process to predict about your Spouse or Life Partner in the Jaimini system of Astrology.
The Darakaraka shows the Soul of the partner. It shows what type of soul the Spouse has. So the lowest degree Planet in the male chart will represent his Spouse or wife and vice versa the lowest degree Planet in the female’s chart will represent her Spouse or husband.
These are also known as Chara Karakas as the degree of Planets will change for each individual’s horoscope as from the Sthira or Fixed Karakas which remain constant.
There are total 7 Chara Karakas in Jaimini System of Astrology. Starting from the Planet having highest degrees in the chart which is the Atmakaraka, Planet with second highest degrees in the chart is the Amatyakaraka and so on – to the lowest degrees known as the Darakaraka.
Note: Rahu and Ketu are not considered for representing the Chara Karakas. But many Astrologers consider Rahu also as one in the Chara Karakas. In my practice after analyzing hundreds of Horoscopes I am of the opinion that Rahu should be considered in the Chara Karakas.
