Ranger Suarez had a 1.83 ERA in his first 16 starts of the year but has pitched to a 6.90 ERA in six starts since. That ugly stretch began with an outing against Miami where he surrendered 10 hits and six runs through 4 2/3 innings. The Marlins were brutal at the plate for the first half of the year but they've picked things up and are 15th in the majors in OPS (.735) while averaging 4.42 runs/game since the All-Star break. Miami is starting Adam Oller who has primarily pitched in the minors and has just three MLB starts this year. Oller struggled in his first MLB start of the year but has allowed just six hits with 14 strikeouts across 11 2/3 innings in his last two outings. He'll benefit from facing a Phillies lineup that could be missing two of its best hitters in Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm.

Guys love swinging early against the 6-foot-6 righty, and giving him ample chances to log sub-10-pitch innings — that makes his Over 15.5 outs a play for me... right up to 17.5. He's gone 18 outs in four straight starts, and didn't even need 75 pitches in either of his last two outings. He has a long leash, as the Halos pushed his pitch count to 93 four starts ago, and his 60% groundball rate is something that can bail him out of trouble, too. The books have struggled to price the rookie and I'm riding his Over until the wheels fall off.

He also struggles against right-handed hitters, allowing them to slug .474.
