Last updated: S28 Mar 03 ’23: While they nerfed the timer since these set dungeons released, the mechanics of this one still… hehe… I improved some build options, clarified some explanations and just poslished it a bit since I made this quite some time ago.

Help! I can't use those skills because they're from the same category! (Turn On Elective Mode)
If you’re not allowed to put two skills on your bar because they’re from the same category – FEAR NOT! This isn’t a bug or a permanent in-game restriction. You simply have to CHECK ON ELECTIVE MODE, via Esc > Options > Gameplay > Elective Mode!
Binding Force Move to Mousewheel up & down is a value change that every player should make IMO. It prevents misclicks and skill misfires, and forces you to move to where otherwise an enemy might be.

Options & Notes:
- The two “NONE” Skills are really unneeded. DONT USE Vengeance and Companion will WORK AGAINST YOU. Just use whatever, or nothing at all. Shadow Power and Fan of Knives are listed there
- Passives: Hot Pursuit is the only changeable one. If you need more DPS, Cull the Weak.
- You just need to be strong enough to one-shot the fat spiders 100% of the time. If you can kill the Elite ones in one-shot too, great. Envious Blade helps a lot.
- You need to be more tough than you imagine as youll be herding these spiders in quite a bit. They’ll get a lot of hits at you. Wildebeest gem is great to help here.

Where is the Unhallowed Essence Set Dungeon?
- Teleport to waypointHowling Plateau in ACT II.
- Go to the lower left a bit, it’s a thin “hallway” along the south.
- Keep following this thin path while IGNORING THE FIRST FORK.
- Once you exit this hallway (there will be a stone gate / archway) hug the right side of the wall and you’ll see Unhallowed Essence set dungeon entrance!

Map & Pathing
Familiarize yourself with the map first. A sample path is shown above.
- Fully clear the first “triangle”. It’s a good sign if you got 1x of the 20 combo here.
- In the first major square, most of the time you can get 2x 20 combo.
- proceed left – we’re gonna clear this set dungeon clockwise. this triangle usually isn’t any good for multishot.
- the next square, there’s a good chance to get 1x 20 combo.
- Most runs, having 4 here is pretty good. Having 3 at this point is very dodgy as the rest of the map isn’t great for the combo. So if you have only 2 here, you can restart.
- continue clockwise hopeing to complete the 2 or 3 combos you need by the end.

How to Beat & Master Unhallowed Essence Set Dungeon
It may seem disheartening , but UE Set dungeon is all about relaxing and efficiency!
Objectives, Tips, Notes
Objective: Multishot kills 20 at a time
Ahhh, this one can be frustrating, but I have some good advice for you here and there…
Spiderlings usually come in groups of 15-20: As far as I can tell, this is the case. This is your main source of spiders. Spiderlings group + Spiderlings group is way over 20. Spiderlings group + Fat spiders is a little over 20. 99% of the time you’ll want “2 groups of enemies, with one of those groups being spiderlings”.
Dismiss your follower, DO NOT USE Companion: Trust me on this. They serve as an unneeded distraction. The monsters will not group properly since they aggro to your friends.
Don’t force the issue: Don’t try to clump up many fat spiders for the 20. Don’t try to combine 2 far away groups. Just suck it up and move on.
You have MANY opportunities: so don’t be stressed out. I’ve cleared the last 20 on as little as 40 enemies remaining. Don’t squander precious time
Illusory Boots are a huuuuuuge help in rounding up enemies. I recommend it in the build and it may as well be a core item for this set dungeon.
Why Wind Chill rune?Instead of Arsenal or Full Broadside? Many reasons…
- Arsenal missiles don’t count!
- Full Broadside isn’t bad, but Windchill is really best… why?
- Wind Chill applies SLOW and +CRIT BEFORE it’s own damage applies!
- This means TRAPPED and Cull of the Weak will be applied on the very first shot!
There is a small element of RNG here. The enemy grouping layout is
NOT ALWAYS THE SAME.
Sometimes you’ll get really easy clears, other times you’ll have to work for it.
And sometimes its going to be “practically impossible”.
Objective: Discipline – Never below half!
Well, this one is hardly a “challenge” but more of a mental check. The only time you’ll run out of discipline (if any) is during the cleanup phase and you’re tempted to spam movement skills.
Preparation-Invigoration has the oft forgotten ability to restore Discipline. Many newer DH’s forget this, and think it’s purely to increase the UE6 bonus. Use the active skill itself to restore Disc. Blood Vengeance passive can also help here,
Ultimately if you fail this, it’s PLAYER ERROR – editing your build to make this otherwise brainless objective is counter-intuitive and impractical. If it slipped your mind, GG and go again.

Unhallowed Essence Set Dungeon – Summary and Closing
UE6 set dungeon, when I first tried it out, was very frustrating. But the more I thought to just let it “flow”, I ended up clearing more and more reliably. Sometimes you just gotta retry it if your enemy spawn layout sucks!
Best tips are Illusory Boots was a huge step up in my success %, not forcing the issue, and making use of the WHOLE DUNGEON. NOT USING Vengeance, Companion, and your follower is also massive.
Good luck out there, and don’t get too salty trying this one. It was much harder back then with the strict timer!
